Domestic violence is a pattern of coercive behaviors used by one person to control another person in an intimate relationship.
These behaviors may include:
- physical violence
- sexual violence
- threats and intimidation
- emotional abuse
- social isolation
- destruction of property
- cruelty to pets
- abuse involving the children
- financial control
This abuse is serious, terrifying, and sometimes deadly. It destroys families and damages everyone involved, including extended family and friends.
No one deserves to be abused!
